All U of A students planning to study abroad will use the HogsAbroad Portal to apply for approval to study abroad, regardless of their program choice. Get started today!

To begin an application, first find the program you want to apply to in HogsAbroad, then click the “Apply” button on the program’s page.

Pro Tips

  • Not sure which program is right for you? Take the Program Match quiz in HogsAbroad to get recommendations based on your interests and preferences.
  • Found a program you like? Click the heart icon on the program page to add it to your Favorites so you can easily find it again later.
  • Looking for an External Provider Program you don’t see listed? Search for the provider’s name and select the “[Provider Name] – All Other Programs” brochure. Apply through that brochure, and the Office of Study Abroad will make sure your application is placed with the specific program you plan to attend.

Steps to Start a HogsAbroad Application

  1. Attend Study Abroad 101.
  2. Visit the explore programs page to search for your program. Take the Program Match quiz to find the programs that fit you best!
  3. Once you have found your program in the HogsAbroad Portal, click the "Apply " button. It is located in the top right button of each program’s page.
    • Use your U of A credentials to login.
    • The application includes a checklist of forms and materials you can save and come back to.

Steps to Continue a HogsAbroad Application

  1. Log in to the HogsAbroad Portal and go to your Applicant Dashboard. You can log in at any time to continue working on your application, forms, and other requirements.
  2. From your Applicant Dashboard, you can access all forms and requirements for your program. New requirements may be added as you move through different phases of the study abroad and pre-departure process, so check your dashboard regularly.
  3. A Study Abroad Scholarship Application will also be available as a form in your Applicant Dashboard. If you would like to be considered for study abroad scholarships, be sure to complete and submit the application before the applicable scholarship deadline.
  4. Complete and submit all forms assigned to you. After submission, the Office of Study Abroad will review each form. You will know a requirement is complete when the form has been marked Accepted.

Rome Center Visiting Students

  1. Your home university will provide the application link for your specific Rome Center program in HogsAbroad. Please contact your home university’s study abroad office for the correct application link.
  2. When accessing HogsAbroad, click “Sign Up” to create your account. If you have already created an account, click “Sign In.” Do not select “Go to Portal.”
