Estimated Costs

Estimated Program Fee:  $4,725* + off-campus UA tuition charges
*UA Architecture students' program fee will vary and will be calculated by adding in the already existing international study fee charged every semester by the Fay Jones School of Architecture.

The program fee includes classroom and instructional fees in Rome; administrative fees, and selected day trips to regional sites. 

Not included are off-campus UA tuition charges (no tuition discounts allowed), roundtrip airfare, room and board, optional program excursions, personal travel, books and supplies, passport and visa, or other personal expenses. 

NB: Your costs may vary substantially, depending on how you shop, how much you spend on food, and the amount of travel you do in Europe. See an Estimated Program Budget for a breakdown of expected costs, both in country and in preparation for the program.

Those who plan to use financial aid or loans from UA must notify the Office of Study Abroad. A letter of Financial Verification will be prepared by the Office of Study Abroad for the Office of Financial Aid providing the program budget.

Withdrawal Policy: Notification of withdrawal is required in writing to the Office of Study Abroad.  Lack of written notification will result in the charging of the full fee to the student, regardless of the actual time of withdrawal. Visiting Architecture Students and UA Interior Design Students:

  • Upon acceptance to the program, students should be prepared to place a deposit down and sign a payment agreement. The deposit should be paid by cash, check, or money order, payable to “University of Arkansas” and submitted with signed payment agreement to the Office of Study Abroad, 722 W. Maple, Fayetteville, AR  72701.  After the deposit has been paid, the balance of the program fee will be put on the participant’s student account. 

  • Please note that the payment schedule on the payment agreement you'll recieve will not be reflected in statements from the UA Student Accounts Office.  Please keep a copy of your agreement as a record of payment deadlines and cancellation penalties. Future payments may be made by credit card on ISIS or sent directly to the Office of Student Accounts, 101 Silas Hunt Hall, Fayetteville, AR  Please be sure to indicate name, ID# and purpose of payment.  Online payments by Visa, Mastercard or Discover are accepted.
