French in Besançon

Discover la cancoillotte, le vin de paille, and the beauty of la Franche‐Comté by participating in the summer program in Besançon, the Venice of France! This popular program at the world renowned Centre de Linguistique Appliquée (CLA) offers students at the intermediate and advanced levels an intensive program in French language and culture.

Students will be housed with French families, which will allow them to use what they learn in class. A member of the French faculty at the University of Arkansas will accompany the group to Besançon and on site for the first half of the program, but the experienced staff at the CLA will provide most of the instruction. The CLA offers students cultural activities and two weekend excursions.
