Accommodations
Houisng and most meals are provided at the Amarna expedition house, located directly in front of the site. These accommodations are simple but adequate.
Excursions
Participants enjoy cultural excursions to the pyramids and Cairo Museum, as well as exploring & shopping in Cairo and tours of Amarna.
Proposed Itinerary
May 9-12 arrive Cairo, stay in hotel, tour Giza pyramids, Saqqara mortuary structures and pyramid, and Egyptian Museum.
May 13 – travel to Amarna by rented tour bus (5-7 hours)
May 13 – June 11 research at Amarna
June 12 – return to Cairo
June 13-14 – tour Cairo tourist sites (palaces, museums, market, Christian Cairo)
June 15 – Depart Cairo
