Program Description
This program provides students with insights into the business and political environment in the European Union as well as a chance to experience Greek culture. During the four-week program students will be introduced to key issues in the Greek/American economic and business relationship. Guest lecturers will be from the business, academic and political community.
Students will receive 6 credit hours through courses taught in English and guided by UA faculty. The program includes ten hours of preparatory instruction at UA, giving students a background in Greece's current business, political and cultural environment.
There will also be field trips to businesses, cultural and historical sites and government institutions (ie: a 4 day, 3 night excursion to Santorini; visits to local businesses such as IBM; CERES Shipping; plus a visit to the US Embassy and the European Union and an organized tours around Athens).

Course offerings/Descriptions (Six hours of credit at the undergraduate or graduate level).
3 credit hours from one of the following: Provides comprehensive, current coverage of e-commerce as it relates to business, technology and society. Emphasis will be on e-commerce business models. Students will design a B2C e-commerce business.

It summarizes current experiences, offers managerial insights, incorporates foundational perspectives and examines significant issues from global perspectives.

Accommodations
Students will share hotel rooms with 2-3 other students during the trip. The base location is the Palmyra Beach Hotel located in the Athens suburb of Glyfaa.
Program Costs
Estimated Budget for 2008
Program Fee: $4,700 + UA Tuition*
UA Tuition: $1,087.92 (6 credit hours undergraduate), $2,,189.04 (6 credit hours graduate)
The program fee includes: group airfare from Fayetteville to Athens (round trip), internal transfers, lodging, breakfast, business visits, four-day/three-night island tour.
Not included are UA tuition, passport fees, 2 meals/day, books, personal travel and incidentals.
Payment Schedule
Upon Acceptance into the Program:
Deposit $300** December 21, 2007 (non-refundable)
First payment $1,000 February 1, 2008
Second payment $3,400 April 1, 2008
Final Payment $ WCOB Tuition May 10, 2008
** Financial Assistance and Scholarships may not be applied against the deposit, but may be applied against the first and/or second payment.
Withdrawal Policy:
Notification of withdrawal is required in writing to the Office of Study Abroad. Lack of written notification will result in the charging of the full fee to the student, regardless of the actual time of withdrawal.
For specific withdrawal policy, please refer to payment agreement.
Scholarships/Financial Aid
Financial aid and scholarships are available to UA students. Visiting students must apply for financial aid through their home university. Business College students should request funding from the Walton College of Business. Honors students should apply for study abroad grants through the UA Honors College. Contact the UA Office of Study Abroad for applications and deadlines or visit the Honors website.
Eligibility
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 24 hours by the beginning of the program with a cumulative GPA of 2.6 or better. One academic recommendation from a faculty member or academic advisor is also required. Applicants must also have completed the Walton College of Business Core.
Deadline
The application deadline is February 1, 2008. Applications will be considered after this date on a space available basis. A deposit is required upon acceptance into the program.
