If you are interested in helping out an international exchange student and getting to know about a new culture, please sign up to be a "pal" for this Fall!

Our exchange students are only here for a semester or year and come from all over Europe and Asia.  As a potential, current or former study abroad student, you probably have a sense of the worries about culture shock and homesickness these students will feel.

The role of friends in an international student’s experience here cannot be undervalued, and the students would be so grateful for your attention. You will play an important role in helping the students feel a consistent human connection while they're here.

Also, your ability to chat with them about American culture and to learn about their cultures will offer the students a rich experience outside their course work and lectures.
